Los verbos reflexivos
Text box one
- Reflexive verbs indicate that the subject performs the action over himself, herself or itself.
- Many reflexive verbs are connected to our daily routines. One example of a reflexive verb in Spanish is “to shower oneself” where the person performing the action (the subject) is the same person as the person receiving it (the object).
- All reflexive verbs in Spanish end their infinitive with the suffix “se”. For example: durcharse (to shower oneself), lavarse (to wash oneself) or vestirse (to dress oneself).
- A reflexive verb behaves the same as any other verb, however, when conjugating, we need to add specific reflexive pronouns before each conjugated form of the verb.

Audio transcript for the activity “Escucha la rutina de profesora Susana por la mañana”
Todas las mañanas, tengo la misma rutina. Me despierto, me levanto, voy al baño. Después, desayuno. Tomo un café y una tostada con aguacate. Más tarde, me ducho, me lavo el pelo, me visto. Y también, me lavo los dientes. Después, salgo de casa, tomo el tren y voy a la universidad.
